Islamabad and Rawalpindi together make an easy family holiday: green hills, grand mosques, busy bazaars and great food. Here is a relaxed three-day plan using Bahria Town as your base.
Day 1: arrive and settle in
Check in to a furnished family apartment, rest, and head out in the evening for dinner at Civic Center or Spring North. Let the children run off energy in a nearby park.
Day 2: Islamabad highlights
Start early for Faisal Mosque, then drive up to Daman-e-Koh for the city view. After lunch, visit Lok Virsa or Pakistan Monument. Return to Bahria Town for an easy dinner.
Day 3: shopping or the hills
Choose between a shopping day (Giga Mall, Centaurus, or Rawalpindi's bazaars) and a half-day drive toward the Murree hills. Pack snacks for the car.
Where to stay
A 2 or 3 bed family apartment gives everyone space and a kitchen for children's meals. Book a families-only building if you prefer.
Budget tips
Stay in an apartment and cook breakfast yourself, travel outside rush hour and book your stay directly to avoid commission.
